Bloomfield Families, I am excited to announce that based on Inter Tech's recommendation it will be safe for our students and staff to return to school tomorrow! A detailed emailed is forthcoming. Inter Tech had a full team of professionals go through and address our whole building. Thank you for your patience.

We will be on a synchronous eLearning day tomorrow, October 31. We will follow Inter Tech's recommendation on when it is safe to return. However, we will not get their recommendation until late this evening. I hope this sets our students, staff, and families up for success. Thank you for your patience and understanding

Families, We are taking every step to ensure student and staff safety. InterTech will be here tomorrow and we will follow their recommendation on when it is safe to return. Megan Gainey, our Youth First social worker, is available to help connect families with Community Partners to address bed bugs in homes.

Bloomfield Families, Unfortunately, we will have a synchronous eLearning day tomorrow due to finding a bed bug.This is different than two weeks ago and came from an unknown source.We will be addressing the whole building to ensure student and staff safety. A challenge coin is a small coin or medallion that symbolizes membership, belonging, and camaraderie. It can also be used to recognize achievements, dedication, or exemplary service. Challenge coins are often associated with the military, but they are also used by law enforcement, firefighters, and other organizations. On behalf of the Bloomfield School District Police Department, I would like to congratulate and thank Mr. Max Zitterman on his selflessness and helping a fellow student out during lunch. Mr. Zitterman demonstrated "INTEGRITY" Doing the right thing, even though no one is watching; quality of being honest and having strong moral principles: moral uprightness. Mr. Zitterman received a Bloomfield School District Police Department Challenge Coin and a certificate for a free Jr. Frosty.

Dear Families, As we have continued to investigate the social media post and law enforcement agencies have worked together. Law enforcement have been able to verify the post originated in Vigo County where an arrest was made. Law enforcement has determined this is not a threat to Bloomfield Schools. Dr. Scott Van Der Aa

Dear Families, Our administration and law enforcement are aware of a social media post thatis currently being shared within our community. Please know that we are working closely with law enforcement and taking this matter seriously. Out of an abundance of caution, we are implementing additional safety measures to ensure the well-being of all students and staff. While we do not believe there is any immediate danger, we remain vigilant and are committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment. Thank you for your understanding and continued support. Staff Member of the Week - 08.16.2024 Jerry Rowe has been an essential contributor to the success of our custodial team since joining our school district in the Fall of 2023. He stepped up during a critical staffing shortage and has since demonstrated an exceptional work ethic and unwavering commitment to his duties. Jerry never complains and consistently takes initiative, ensuring that tasks are handled promptly and efficiently. His shift begins at the end of the school day, focusing primarily on the lower A hallway in the high school. However, he is always willing to lend a hand wherever needed, and before leaving, he checks in with his co-workers to offer assistance. Jerry has fostered strong, positive relationships with both staff and students, and his contagious smile and genuine spirit of service truly embody the qualities we value. He is an all-around great person to work with, making him an outstanding candidate for this recognition. We are deeply grateful for his integrity and the positive impact he continues to make in our community. We sincerely thank Habig Injury Law for partnering with BSD to recognize and reward our Staff Members of the Week. Staff Member of the Week - 08/09/2024 Mrs. Barker is a dedicated fourth-grade teacher at Bloomfield Elementary School. She was nominated for her exceptional support of new team members over the summer. Her welcoming approach not only fostered a sense of unity, but also strengthened the bond within the fourth-grade team. 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮, 𝐌𝐫𝐬. 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐫, 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐲 𝐞𝐱𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞! It’s exciting to share that Habig Injury Law is partnering with the Bloomfield School District to recognize and celebrate our outstanding teachers and staff members through the "Teacher and Staff Member of the Week" initiative for the 2024-2025 school year.
